Dear friends of The Salt Mine,
Every member of our community matters, and we’re committed to providing essential support to all of our neighbors—including our homeless neighbors in Lincoln and Sheridan. We help them regain stability one step at a time. Through our key resources—daily food packs, showers, laundry services, and clothing exchange programs—we offer practical help that addresses immediate needs and fosters long-term hope. These resources become a lifeline, especially during these cold months, when a dry place and a warm shower can truly turn someone’s day around.
Available Tuesday through Friday, our programs include:
Clean showers to promote health and hygiene
Laundry facilities for fresh, clean clothes
A clothing exchange/giveaway to access necessary items at no cost
Daily food packs to ensure no one goes hungry
Quick connections to local resources and social services
Over the decades, we’ve seen how consistent help builds relational trust. People eventually come to The Salt Mine not just to make it through another day, but to start rebuilding a life off the streets. Your support makes that kind of real-life change possible.
Each of our programs is designed to help not only the individual in need, but our community as a whole. We’ve always worked closely with city leaders, local police, and community members to make sure our services reduce strain on public resources and benefit the city, businesses, and residents alike. By providing a safe, welcoming space, we promote well-being for everyone.
This work is vital, but it relies on your consistent support to continue. Recurring donations are the greatest way to make a lasting impact—they allow us to plan ahead and respond effectively to the needs of all our neighbors.
If you haven’t already, please consider setting up a monthly gift at thesaltmine.org/donate. Your partnership truly changes lives every day.
Thank you for standing with us in this mission.
