As many family struggle to feed their families, food closets are also struggling to keep up with the sudden spike in demand. Today we received a call from a mom asking if our food closet was still open. She had already been turned away from another food closet, because they ran out of food for the day. She said she was “at a point of desperation” as she scrambled to find food to feed her children.
The Salt Mine is not immune to the sudden spike in need. We are seeing longer lines as requests for help are up 40%. This past Saturday, we assisted over 400 individuals with food. Families are struggling and reaching out to their community for help. The Salt Mine needs your support now to ensure we can continue saying “yes” to every request for help.
Generously support local families by donating today. Your one-time or recurring donation will go directly to those who need it the most.
