Dear friends of The Salt Mine,

ree

Your generosity provides more than essential food resources to families in need. It offers hope to those facing life's challenges. These stories illustrate the impact of your donations!

“I am a recently widowed 75 year old. I receive some food stamps, but never enough. Without the help of the Food Closet, I would be eating cheap junk food. The Salt Mine allows me to eat nutritious food to maintain my health.I have been visiting the Food Closet for about a year and I am so thankful.”

“This wonderful organization helps so many people in our community. The food is fresh, delicious, and generously provided. Often times, our budget does not allow for any extra food items. The Food Closet has become a dependable and appreciated nutritional resource for my family. These are great people who do not judge or express any disapproval towards those receiving food. I am so grateful!”

“I recently retired, and we have been experiencing financial difficulty. The Food Closet has been a godsend to us and our ten grandkids.”

“This past year, my three teenage grandchildren moved into my home. On my income alone, I would not be able to feed my family and offer good food choices to them. I am so thankful for The Salt Mine!”

-Food Closet Client, June 7, 2025

These stories of hope are only possible because of you! Without your help, we cannot continue to give these real people, and hundreds more, the help they really need. We are still asking for your support as ever-present financial needs weigh on us during the summer months.

Our fundraising goal is $4,000 in new, recurring monthly donations and $40,000 in one-time gifts to meet the financial needs of this season. Please consider giving today and making a difference in the lives of real people in our community!
