Our neighbors need your help now! With the current federal shutdown, many families may not have access to their SNAP (CalFresh) benefits on November 1st. Hundreds of families in our community rely on these benefits and The Salt Mine to provide food for their families. The Salt Mine has been preparing for an increase in need, and we stand ready to help our neighbors during this time. Anyone in Lincoln or Sheridan can receive fresh food each day we are open. We plan to continue our food distributions five days a week with our normal hours of operation:
Tuesday-Friday, 9 am-12 pm
Saturday, 12-1 pm
Our plans for holiday distributions are also moving forward as planned, with signups opening on November 1st.
The Salt Mine is your local charity, executing a large operation to feed our community, with no support from federal funding or state grants. This allows us to stay local and meet the specific needs of our neighbors. We rely on private monetary donations to keep our doors open on a daily basis and in times of emergency. You can allow The Salt Mine to prepare for this upcoming crisis by making a one time donation or setting up a recurring donation today. Without your support, we may not be able to handle the impending and consistently increasing need. Our community must come together, especially in times of economic difficulty and uncertainty. Donate or share this blog post to give your support today!
