Hello friends of The Salt Mine!
The holidays are here! You may not feel the fall weather yet, but we are gearing up for our biggest events of the year—our Turkey Box and Christmas Box giveaways! We want to ensure that every family in need is able to enjoy the holidays this year. Our holiday boxes include a big turkey and a few favorite fixings that will allow our neighbors to have an amazing holiday dinner. We can’t wait for you to be a part of this outreach! Your support will improve people’s lives and give encouragement that extends far beyond the holiday season.
Our holiday giveaways are right around the corner with the Turkey Box Giveaway on November 17th and the Christmas Box Giveaway on December 15th. We need your help to make it happen! These giveaways present a huge financial need—we must purchase food for hundreds of boxes! This holiday season, The Salt Mine is projecting to give away more than we ever have before, impacting thousands of people. To do this, we have set a fundraising goal of $20,000 for each holiday giveaway, $40,000 in total. To accomplish this goal, we are asking you, as a member of our community, to consider how you can help a family in need this holiday season! Here are a few ways you can help:

Recurring donations are the easiest way to make the biggest impact. They allow for strategic planning, meaning each dollar donated in a recurring donation goes further and makes a greater difference.
Make a one-time donation here.
One-time donations provide an often essential injection of funds for the financial need of the moment. The holidays are your opportunity to make a big difference with a one-time donation that directly impacts our community!

If you are a business owner or have the resources to make a large financial contribution, please consider sponsoring a specific holiday item for our holiday boxes. You can be the one to purchase hundreds of pies for families all over Lincoln! If you would like to learn more about this option, contact us at admin@thesaltmine.org. We would love to have a conversation about what it looks like for you or your business to sponsor The Salt Mine and become a leader of community outreach!
We love partnering with community organizations in Lincoln, especially for the holidays. Our local heroes at The Lincoln Fire Department are hosting the 10th Annual Turkey Drive in November! Keep an eye out for this event so you can participate and help spread the word. For our Christmas Box giveaway, we are partnering with The Lincoln Lions Club to give away hundreds of toys to families with children in need. As you can see, these Holiday Boxes go far beyond giving away food—you can make a difference in people’s lives!

For us to have anything extra during the holidays required the help of somebody else, whether an organization or somebody going out of their way to help a family in need. I realize now that any Thanksgiving meal we had or Christmas gifts under the tree came from other people giving to us.
